How to find your Dell warranty status and Dell service contract info?

Your Dell server is down. Is it still covered under warranty or did you renew the service contract with Dell. This article will help you determine just that and then show you some alternatives. Start by determining your Dell warranty status with Dell and Dell service contract status with Dell. If you purchased the equipment from a third party or have a service contract with a third party like Avartech IT Services this article may not apply to you. Many companies prefer service with a third party service provide like Avartech IT Services because of savings as much as 75% from what Dell charges. Dell has hundreds of different warranty terms because of the many different product lines and the many company acquisitions they have made over the years. Some of the companies that Dell has acquired may also be covered by Dell under a warranty or service contract like EMC II, SecureWorks Information Security Services, Force10 Networks, Compellent Technologies Inc. It is best if you have your original invoice, quote, order acknowledgement, invoice or receipt when you purchased your Dell equipment. If you put your Dell equipment or equipment purchased from one of Dell’s acquisitions you should have a copy of the service contract you signed before starting coverage. The service contract should include a description of the services you purchased. If you do not have your invoice you will need to contact Dell or the reseller you purchased the Dell equipment from.
